Construction sites often present many environmental challenges. Mold can easily grow in both new building materials and in the structure itself if proper precautions and regulations are not followed. Cli-MATE utilizes connected IoT technology to allow a job site manager to precisely monitor multiple sites’ moisture levels anywhere. This helps to ensure a safer environment for all who live and work in a new building.

Coordinate measuring machines (CMM) are used by engineers and manufacturers to access the quality of finished products. CMM machines are controlled by handheld units called jog boxes. Previous jog box designs placed more focus on function than ergonomics. The aim of this project was to create a jog box which not only functions well but also meets the ergonomic needs of long-term handheld use.

DEWALT LINK is a new way to communicate with others on the job site. Utilizing a specially designed noise canceling earbud, it provides a lightweight device which is easier and more comfortable to wear over longer periods of time. The noise cancellation also protects users from damaging levels of loud noise and it reacts dynamically to its environment.

SiteManage is a companion app designed to go along with DEWALT LINK.  It provides job site managers with enhanced ways of communicating with their employees as well as keeping track of tools and inventory of materials. This app works with the sensors within DEWALT LINK to help map and protect employees from dangerous levels of noise using IoT data.

Jewelry has been an important part of human expression for thousands of years. It has been a way to convey wealth and power as well as romance. As people invest in more jewelry, it is becoming more important for them to clean their jewelry collection. In collaboration with Connoisseurs, I created new concepts for their Diamond Dazzle Stik, Dazzle Drops, and Precious Bath products.

Biking is a highly popular form of recreation and transportation around the world. Many users find that the added protection of specifically designed biking gloves aides in the safety and comfort of operating a bicycle, either on the road or on the trail. This project will examine the importance of glove grip and control as well as user comfort.
